Gopal Kotecha, M.D., Ph.D.

Gopal Kotecha, M.D., Ph.D., is a Director, Quantitative Research on the Deerfield Intelligence team and joined the Firm in 2026. Prior to Deerfield, Dr. Kotecha spent over two years as a Senior Investment Associate at QLS Advisors. While earning his PhD, he served as a Program Director of the Applied AI in Healthcare Course at Harvard Executive Education and as a Venture Consultant at Aegis Ventures/Ascertain. Earlier in his career, Dr. Kotecha was at Mass General Brigham AI (formerly the Center for Clinical Data Science) and practiced as a doctor at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Dr. Kotecha holds a B.A. and M.D. from the University of Cambridge, an M.S. in Machine Learning from University College London (UCL), and a Ph.D. in Biostatistics from Harvard University.
