Shannon Plumstead is a Director, Partnership and Communications at Deerfield and joined the Firm in 2013. Ms. Plumstead focuses on designing, planning and executing collaboration initiatives and communication strategies involving external stakeholders including academic partners, collaborators, and investor due diligence teams. In 2021, she became a compliance designee responsible for certain communication approvals. Ms. Plumstead is also involved in the Firm’s Break into the Boardroom, Women in Science, and Cure Lecture Series programs. Prior to Deerfield, Ms. Plumstead was the Studio Coordinator and Executive Assistant to the CEO of Beneville Studios. Previously, she was the Facility Manager and Development Coordinator for LA PALESTRA (LPMG) and also served as the Administrative and Human Resource Director and Executive Assistant to the President at LA PALESTRA Center for Preventative Medicine. Ms. Plumstead started her career as a professional ballet dancer and graduated with honors from the Boston Conservatory. Ms. Plumstead also holds an MBA from Cornell University’s Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management.
