Rama Shmeis

Rama Shmeis, Ph.D., is a Vice President, Head of Chemistry, Manufacturing & Controls (CMC), Deerfield Discovery and Development, and joined the Firm in 2025. Prior to Deerfield, Dr. Shmeis spent over two years at Sporos Bioventures, most recently as Chief Technical Operations Officer (Consultant). Before that, she was Senior Vice President, CMC & Technical Operations at Radiopharm Theranostics. Dr. Shmeis has also held roles at TG Therapeutics, Checkpoint Therapeutics, Avenue Therapeutics, Eagle Pharmaceuticals, Keryx Biopharmaceuticals, Purdue Pharma, Sanofi-Aventis, Vertex Pharmaceuticals, Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals, Novatris, and Sugen. Dr. Shmeis holds a B.S. in Pharmacy from the University of Jordan and a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutics from the College of Pharmacy, University of Iowa.
