Ben Hecht

Ben Hecht is Corporate Counsel and joined the Firm in 2024. Prior to Deerfield, Mr. Hecht was an Associate at Goodwin Proctor LLP for almost two years. Before Goodwin Proctor, he was an Associate at Latham & Watkins, LLP for more than three years. Previous to that, he clerked for the Hon. Virginia A. Phillips, Chief District Judge, Central District of California. Mr. Hecht holds a B.A. in Psychology from Yale University and a J.D. from Harvard Law School. 

Eric Rosoff

Eric Rosoff is Compliance Counsel and joined the Firm in 2022.  Prior to Deerfield, Mr. Rosoff was an Associate at Kramer Levin Naftalis & Frankel LLP, where he practiced in the firm’s litigation department for over six years.  Previous to that, he clerked for the Hon. Frank Maas, United States Magistrate Judge, Southern District of New York.  Mr. Rosoff holds a B.A from Syracuse University and a J.D. from Yeshiva University’s Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law. 

Danielle Rosato

Danielle Rosato is Corporate Counsel and joined the Firm in 2021. Prior to Deerfield, Ms. Rosato was a Senior Associate in the Corporate & Finance Department of Arnold & Porter Kaye Scholer LLP, where she practiced for seven years. At Arnold & Porter Ms. Rosato specialized in mergers and acquisitions as well as life sciences transactions. Ms. Rosato holds a B.A. from Boston College (Phi Beta Kappa) and a J.D. from Washington University in St. Louis.

Eric Feuer

Eric Feuer is a Senior Compliance Officer and Counsel, and joined the Firm in 2021. Prior to Deerfield, Mr. Feuer spent seven years at Apollo Global Management, most recently as a Compliance Officer where he managed several compliance workstreams supporting private and public funds and served as the Secretary of Apollo’s Investment Practices Committee. Previous to Apollo, Mr. Feuer worked in compliance at J.P. Morgan Chase, covering the fixed income and syndicated credit desks in J.P. Morgan’s Corporate & Investment Bank. Mr. Feuer holds a B.A. from Binghamton University, and a J.D. from Yeshiva University’s Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law with a concentration in Corporate Law. 

Jennifer Hsieh

Jennifer Hsieh is Director, Compliance and joined the Firm in 2011 as a member of the Deerfield Institute, where she managed all paid expert interactions within the Firm. She transitioned to the Compliance team in 2017, before joining the Legal team in 2023. Ms. Hsieh received her B.S. in Biology from the University of Richmond and M.S. in Biology from American University. 

Mark Shtilerman, Ph.D.

Mark Shtilerman, Ph.D., is Senior Counsel and joined the Firm in 2014. Dr. Shtilerman has experience counseling companies in all aspects of intellectual property procurement, enforcement and licensing. He is a technically trained patent attorney registered to practice before the USPTO. Prior to Deerfield, Dr. Shtilerman was an attorney in nationally recognized law firms, and before that, was a patent agent at a biotechnology firm. Dr. Shtilerman holds a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biophysics from the University of Pennsylvania, a J.D. from Fordham University, and a B.S. in Physics from St. Petersburg State University in Russia. He completed his post-doctoral training at Harvard Medical School and Brigham & Women’s Hospital.

Charlotte Williamson

Charlotte Williamson is a Legal and Business Operations Analyst and joined the Firm in 2011. Previously, she was with XL Group for five years where she served as a Deal Administrator in the commercial property underwriting department. Ms. Williamson holds a B.A. in Political Science from Hobart and William Smith Colleges.

Elliot Press

Elliot Press is a Partner and joined the Firm in 2016 to work on structured transactions for the Deerfield Funds. Prior to Deerfield, Mr. Press was a Partner in the corporate department at Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP, where he practiced for 20 years. At Katten, he represented investors and issuers in various public company investment transactions, IPOs, mergers and acquisitions and other securities-related transactions and advised investors and issuers on various securities law-related issues. Mr. Press received a B.A. from Yeshiva University, a J.D. from Fordham University School of Law and an M.B.A. from Fordham Graduate School of Business Administration.

Lawrence Atinsky

Lawrence Atinsky is a Partner and joined the Firm in 2013. Mr. Atinsky focuses on structuring investments in Deerfield’s Private Design Funds, as well as other Deerfield Funds. Mr. Atinsky has over 25 years of experience structuring and negotiating public and private financings, strategic transactions and licensing arrangements involving healthcare companies. Prior to joining Deerfield, Mr. Atinsky served as a Partner and General Counsel of Ascent Biomedical Ventures, a venture capital firm investing in healthcare companies. Since 2000, he has been the General Counsel of several private companies in the healthcare industry and is actively involved in the operations of many early-stage companies. Mr. Atinsky began his career as an associate in the Mergers & Acquisitions department at the law firm of Skadden Arps LLP. He holds a B.A. with high distinction from the University of Wisconsin and a J.D. from New York University School of Law.

Robert Snetiker

Robert Snetiker is Chief Compliance Officer and Associate General Counsel, and joined the Firm in 2015.  Prior to Deerfield, Mr. Snetiker worked at The Regulatory Fundamentals Group, a consulting firm that helps asset managers and institutional investors address regulatory and legal requirements and manage risk.  He holds a B.A. in Economics and Political Science from University of Michigan and a J.D. from Brooklyn Law School.
