Jennifer Pearson is Head of Human Resources and Employment Counsel at Deerfield and joined the Firm in 2019. She is responsible for leading all facets of the human resources function for the firm. Prior to Deerfield, Ms. Pearson was Director of Human Resources and Associate General Counsel at Brigade Capital Management, where she had global responsibility for building and leading the human resources function. Before Brigade, she spent several years in private legal practice as an employment attorney with the law firms of Seward & Kissel, LLP and Epstein Becker & Green, PC. As an attorney in private practice, Ms. Pearson focused on providing advice and counsel to clients on a wide range of employment law matters, focusing primarily on clients in the investment management industry. Ms. Pearson holds a B.A. in Government and Politics from St. John’s University and a J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law. Ms. Pearson is admitted to practice in the state courts of New York and Connecticut, as well as the United States District Court for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
Maria Guglielmo is a Human Resources Associate at Deerfield and joined the Firm in 2019. She is responsible for maintaining current employment information, onboarding new employees, recruiting for open positions, assisting with inquiries related to benefits and planning Deerfield events. Prior to Deerfield, Ms. Guglielmo spent a year as an Executive Assistant to the Vice President of Human Resources and the Investor Relations Team at AEA Investors. Before AEA, she was an Executive Assistant to the Director of Human Resources/Associate General Counsel, the Chief Compliance Officer and the Head of Distressed Research at Brigade Capital Management for four years. Ms. Guglielmo holds a B.A. in Corporate Communications from The City University of New York’s Baruch College.
