Covenant House

Covenant House was founded in 1972 in New York City, with a commitment to not only protect and serve young people who face homelessness, but to serve them in a community where they are treated with absolute respect and unconditional love. That commitment continues in Covenant House’s work in New York and across the federation for young people in 31 cities in 6 countries.  Covenant House New York (CHNY) is NYC’s largest provider of shelter and essential services to unaccompanied youth (age 16-24) who have experienced homelessness, trafficking and exploitation.   Since its inception, CHNY’s mission has been to provide immediate housing for all youth and young adults in need.  CHNY uses a trauma-informed approach that emphasizes physical, psychological, and emotional safety, and creates opportunities for youth to rebuild a sense of control and empowerment in their lives.

We are committed to building a comprehensive, efficient, and resilient health system that provides high quality care. We believe that ensuring access to life-saving and life-changing health services is a critical component to building strong and productive communities.

Partners in Health

Our mission is to provide a preferential option for the poor in healthcare. By establishing long-term relationships with sister organizations based in settings of poverty, Partners in Health strives to achieve two overarching goals: to bring the benefits of modern medical science to those most in need of them and to serve as an antidote to despair.

Coalition for the Homeless

The Coalition for the Homeless is the nation’s oldest advocacy and direct service organization helping homeless men, women and children. We believe that affordable housing, sufficient food and the chance to work for a living wage are fundamental rights in a civilized society. Since our inception in 1981, the Coalition has worked through litigation, public education and direct services to ensure that these goals are realized, and in that time we have given more than one million homeless New Yorkers a way off the streets.
