Covenant House

Covenant House was founded in 1972 in New York City, with a commitment to not only protect and serve young people who face homelessness, but to serve them in a community where they are treated with absolute respect and unconditional love. That commitment continues in Covenant House’s work in New York and across the federation for young people in 31 cities in 6 countries.  Covenant House New York (CHNY) is NYC’s largest provider of shelter and essential services to unaccompanied youth (age 16-24) who have experienced homelessness, trafficking and exploitation.   Since its inception, CHNY’s mission has been to provide immediate housing for all youth and young adults in need.  CHNY uses a trauma-informed approach that emphasizes physical, psychological, and emotional safety, and creates opportunities for youth to rebuild a sense of control and empowerment in their lives.

Village Health Works

Village Health Works’ mission is to provide quality, compassionate health care in a dignified environment while also addressing the root causes of illness, poverty, violence, and neglect.

Health Equity International

Health Equity International is dedicated to providing essential health services to the people of Southern Haiti, especially the most vulnerable. We are committed to building a comprehensive, efficient, and resilient health system that provides high quality care. We believe that ensuring access to life-saving and life-changing health services is a critical component to building strong and productive communities.

Coalition for the Homeless

The Coalition for the Homeless is the nation’s oldest advocacy and direct service organization helping homeless men, women and children. We believe that affordable housing, sufficient food and the chance to work for a living wage are fundamental rights in a civilized society. Since our inception in 1981, the Coalition has worked through litigation, public education and direct services to ensure that these goals are realized, and in that time we have given more than one million homeless New Yorkers a way off the streets.

Jacaranda Foundation

Jacaranda Health’s vision is a world where all women and their families experience childbirth safely and with dignity. We run East Africa’s highest quality affordable maternity hospital, and we partner with government hospitals to deliver solutions that improve quality of care and outcomes for mothers and their newborns. Our primary programs address the two major causes of maternal death by improving nurse capacity to deliver life-saving obstetric care and deploying mobile tools to ensure mothers seek appropriate care at the right time.

The Family Center

The Family Center’s mission is to strengthen families affected by crisis, illness or loss to create a more secure present and future for their children. The Family Center offers evidence-based, trauma-informed social, legal, behavioral health and mental health services to New Yorkers and their families. Their team combines a keen business sense with a personalized approach, partnering with these families to plan their next steps and long-term solutions. Family Center trademarks are at-home visits and coordinated support strategies. Many client families are struggling with a severe trauma or loss. By staying with these families every step of the way, The Family Center builds stability, trust, and sustainable results. Staff work to provide immediate care and ensure a secure future for parents and children. Working with The Family Center, vulnerable NYC children and families stay stronger, longer.

Partners in Health

Our mission is to provide a preferential option for the poor in healthcare. By establishing long-term relationships with sister organizations based in settings of poverty, Partners in Health strives to achieve two overarching goals: to bring the benefits of modern medical science to those most in need of them and to serve as an antidote to despair.

Many Hopes

Many Hopes rescues children from poverty and abuse in Mombasa, Kenya by providing essential healthcare and education to local children so they can learn to solve the problems that charity alone cannot. It provides them with loving homes and excellent schooling complete with the physical, mental and emotional healing of the whole child necessary for them to excel.

Living Goods

Living Goods (LG) empowers community health workers (CHW) to deliver life-saving products and services to homes of the underprivileged and underserved in Uganda.

The program recruits, trains and supports a network of CHWs who go door-to-door to teach families how to improve their health while also supplying low-cost, life-changing products from its well-stocked branch warehouses. LG provides ongoing training, supervision and recertification. Its results-based financing model (RFB) dramatically reduces deaths in the most vulnerable populations for an annual cost of less than $2 per person while also generating revenue that compensates the millions of CHWs required to provide the much-needed care. LG seeks large scale impact and is able to deliver this systematically through the use of mobile tools and real-time performance management as well as by leveraging its partnerships.
